II CONFERENCIA PARA ACABAR CON LAS VIOLENCIAS DE GÉNERO EN LA ACADEMIA
Estimada/o colega:
Bilbao acogerá los próximos 23 y 24 de octubre la II Conferencia para acabar con las violencias de género en la academia (II Conference Ending gender-based violence in Academia), organizada por el Ministerio de Universidades de España con motivo de la Presidencia Española del Consejo de la Unión Europea, con la colaboración del proyecto UNISAFE, que comprende universidades e instituciones de investigación, entre otros socios a nivel europeo.
Esta II Conferencia se celebrará tras la primera, que tuvo lugar durante la presidencia checa en Praga, el pasado 25 de noviembre de 2022; y en la que el Gobierno de España participó activamente, incluyendo la firma de la Call for action Working towards safe and respectful higher education and research for all – Call for Action to End Gender-Based Violence.
Durante la conferencia se abordarán diversas líneas de investigación que han desarrollado desde UNISAFE en los últimos tres años: un mapeo de respuestas institucionales, una encuesta europea sobre violencia de género en la academia, estudios de caso sobre respuesta institucionales al acoso en diversas universidades de la Unión Europea, un análisis de entrevistas a testigos y víctimas de acoso y recomendaciones que se están elaborando para diferentes actores, incluidas universidades e instituciones públicas.
Además, una delegación del Gobierno de Chile estará presente en la conferencia con el objetivo de compartir sus políticas públicas de igualdad y contra el acoso sexual en educación superior (Ley 21.013.9, proyecto de ley Yo cuido, yo estudio).
Considerando la eliminación el acoso sexual en el ámbito de la investigación y la academia como un objetivo conjunto de la sociedad, pero también particularmente de todo el sistema universitario y de I+D, me gustaría invitarle a asistir y debatir en esta conferencia en donde estarán presentes diferentes responsables de las políticas de igualdad en el ámbito universitario y de investigación.
Debido al aforo limitado del evento, le solicitamos realizar una muestra de interés previo escribiendo a la siguiente dirección speu2023@universidades.gob.es, indicando en el asunto del correo el siguiente código: UNISAFE2023. En cualquier caso, se
facilitará un mecanismo de inscripción que lanzaremos en el mes de septiembre, comunicándolo debidamente.
La conferencia contará con interpretación simultánea en los siguientes idiomas: español, inglés, euskera y lenguaje de signos.

II CONFERENCE ENDING GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE IN ACADEMIA
Dear Colleague,
Bilbao will host the II Conference Ending gender-based violence in Academia, organized by the Spanish Ministry of Universities on the occasion of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with the collaboration of the UNISAFE project, which includes universities and research institutions, among other partners at European level.
This 2nd Conference will be held after the first one, which took place during the Czech Presidency in Prague, on 25th November 2022; and in which the Government of Spain signed, through the Ministries of Science and Innovation and Universities, the Call for action Working towards safe and respectful higher education and research for all – Call for Action to End Gender-Based Violence.
As a continuation of this first conference, Spain will host a second conference with the same theme, which will address various lines of research that have been developed by UNISAFE in recent years: case studies of harassment in various universities in the European Union, analysis of interviews and recommendations to be made to universities and public institutions.
In addition, a delegation from the Chilean Government will be present at the conference to share its public policies on equality and against sexual harassment in higher education (Law 21.013.9, bill Yo cuido, yo estudio).
Considering the elimination of sexual harassment in research and academia as a joint goal of society, but also particularly of the whole university and R&D system, I would like to invite you to attend and discuss at this conference where different policy makers in the field of equality in academia and research will be present. This conference will be held on 23-24 October at the Bizkaia Aretoa, in Bilbao, with the collaboration of the University of the Basque Country.
